Maj the Paj

C'mon now - you gotta find its limitations by burying it at Peake!

Well, our trusty old Cruiser Wylie has been replaced with Maj the Paj, a turbo diesel Pajero.
Wylie had been to many 4wd destinations which probably won't be revisited,
so Maj will have to find a few new places to visit.

Maj is still pretty much in basic trim, with the only additions being a bull bar,
Hella spotlights, second battery, CB & HF radios and a NextG antenna.

It took some getting used to the ABS on the vehicle - the first excursion stopping
on a dirt road saw it halfway across the intersection before the vehicle stopped!

Most of Maj's travels have been on the black stuff and she handles towing a caravan very well.
Fuel consumption around 12.5 litres per 100 km and 14 litres per 100 when towing.
She’s very comfortable to ride in.

The Pajero handles the beach and dirt tracks very well. It’s main 4wd excursion has been to
Steep Point, the most western point of the continent.
Lots of sand hills and corrugations that made your teeth chatter!

But the scenery was well worth it.

Maj has inherited the same problem as Wylie: Doing the U turn to head home!
